UBS research projects annual AI rack capacity will grow 4x to 104.5 GW by 2030:
- Nvidia still triples to 51 GW, holding near 48% share through 2030
- AMD nearly triples to 9 GW
- Custom ASICs reach 43% share by around 2028, with most of the shift happening by then
ASIC share is fragmented across Google TPUs, Amazon Trainium, Microsoft Maia and Meta MTIA, while Nvidia sells the full system — so its share of AI infrastructure dollars could run well above its share of deployed gigawatts. Big opportunity for Broadcom and other ASIC players.
