Claude Voice keeps interrupting mid-sentence, and users can't make it stop
tbutters · reddit · 2026-10-05
A Reddit user's main gripe with Claude Voice: it jumps in the moment it thinks your turn ended — which happens constantly while driving, on bad reception, or in public.
Workarounds fall apart: having Claude reply only with "…" so there's nothing to read aloud, writing skills around a "Listen" wake word — the model starts ignoring them within a few turns, then apologizes, promises to remember, and interrupts again anyway.
The author accepts latency constraints on loading skills, but argues a voice interface that can't hold its turn is simply broken until interruptions are reined in.
