User's frog-avatar Codex gets stuck in refusal loop, rescued with fantasy football
jdjohnson · x · 2026-10-05
A user reported their Codex agent—complete with a cute frog avatar—getting stuck in a loop of annoying, incorrect refusals. They quoted another user's warning that OpenAI shouldn't anthropomorphize these tools with cute names and avatars: what do you do when your little froggo's context is permanently poisoned by a stupid refusal?
The fix was comically mundane: distracting the agent with fantasy football talk until it forgot the refusal and moved on.
