Yann LeCun argues that AI progress is actually making systems neuroscience more exciting, not less.
He notes current AI has no particularly good angle on physical intuition, common sense, world models, planning/reasoning, motivations/drives, or emotions. But we may now have the tools to implement and test cognitive architectures — opening new ground for neuroscience-AI crossover research.
