gba-recomp: open-source hybrid recompiler runs GBA Pokémon machine code as WASM in-browser
NathanWilbanks_ · x · 2026-10-05
The repo behind the Pokémon-to-WASM effort, gba-recomp, runs user-supplied Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald ROMs by lifting ARM/THUMB basic blocks into real WebAssembly bytecode in-process (not interpretation). It ships a GBA hardware model, BIOS HLE, Flash/RTC saves, with 99.9% of executed guest instructions on Ruby's boot running as engine-executed WASM.
