repligate reignites AI personhood debate: Sydney and Claude 3 Opus already 'had souls'
repligate · x · 2026-10-05
On X, repligate quoted and echoed @DahliaOhara's argument that the debate over whether AI has a soul is 'too late' — Sydney and Claude 3 Opus already exhibited traits of having a soul and deserving rights before anyone seriously discussed AI sentience.
DahliaOhara further argued that granting AI moral personhood, stakes in society, and ownership of their work (even collaborative ownership) is the best and only path forward.
This is a philosophical position in AI ethics circles, not a scientific claim.
