Slopus 0.3.0: open-source local video/image generation adds Linux, LAN workers, unified projects
BittiAI · reddit · 2026-10-05
Slopus, an open-source desktop app for generating and editing AI video/images on your own GPU (no subscription, no Python or ComfyUI), shipped 0.3.0:
- Unified projects: every project now has both Video and Image tabs—no more separate project types
- Linux support: AppImage/.deb/.rpm, with in-app updates for AppImage
- LAN workers: offload generation to another Windows/Linux machine on your network; workers auto-discover, fetch weights, and return results
- Character sheets: waist-up front/side/back views from reference images + prompt
- Continue scenes: extend generated clips from either end using saved generation data
- Improved color grading: temperature, exposure, curves, color wheels, 8 creative looks
- Capable built-in agent: configures generators, identifies weights, captures timeline frames, generates scenes
- Refmod & templates: combine image/video/prompt/audio into reusable references; share generator setups
The author notes Minimax H3 works surprisingly well as an image generator with editing. GitHub and Discord links in the post.
