Production Slate V4.4: Open-Source ComfyUI Node Organizes AI Filmmaking by Scene, Shot and Take
Level-Royal-9287 · reddit · 2026-10-05
After months of development and real production testing, the author released Production Slate V4.4, a free open-source (MIT) ComfyUI output-management node that solves the chaos of tracking large volumes of generated images and video takes.
Its core idea borrows real film-set hierarchy: Production → Scene → Shot → Take.
Key V4.4 features:
- IMAGE, VIDEO, and paired VIDEO + reference image saving
- Automatic filenames, disk-based take numbering, and Scene/Shot folder generation
- Matched take numbers between videos and reference images
- Built-in folder browser and a render monitor showing progress and elapsed time
- Auto production-code generation with manual override
The author production-tested the tool across the entire creation of its own launch film — generation, take management, selection, and editing in DaVinci Resolve — and it works with ComfyUI 0.37.x workflows.
