AI-Designed Drug Rentosertib Shows 3-4 Years of Biological Age Reversal in Phase IIa Trial
Dr_Singularity · x · 2026-10-05
Insilico Medicine's AI-discovered and AI-designed drug rentosertib, originally developed for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, produced a striking secondary result in a Phase IIa trial: all 6 proteomic aging clocks measured the 42 patients as biologically younger after treatment.
- The strongest regimen showed 3-4 years of predicted biological age reversal after just four weeks, with one clock indicating up to 6 years
- The target TNIK was identified by AI, and the molecule itself was designed by generative AI
- The drug is advancing toward Phase III for lung fibrosis
CEO Alex Zhavoronkov cautioned the results are early-stage, but if confirmed it would be a landmark case for AI drug discovery and aging research.
