A viral thesis argues AI lives in a bubble: even paying users do only a handful of basic things with ChatGPT, unaware they can upload photos, connect Gmail to agents, or have a browser agent check them into flights. The real challenge is adoption and activation, not capability — and slow adoption may be the world's only buffer to absorb AI-driven social change.
