Nvidia-backed Reflection to release open-weight model rivaling top Chinese open models

Per Axios sources, Nvidia-backed Reflection is preparing a powerful open-weight model expected to compete with top Chinese open models while initially trailing the best US frontier systems. A new wave of Western open-weight models is expected this month; enterprises can download and customize it with private data, in some cases rivaling the most expensive frontier systems. Reflection has been briefing officials in Washington ahead of launch.
