Jensen Huang Calls Musk and Hinton's AI Doom Talk 'Irresponsible' and Unscientific
ylecun · x · 2026-10-05
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang publicly criticized Elon Musk and Geoffrey Hinton for spreading AI doom scenarios, including Hinton's claim that humans are a "bootloader" for AI.
Huang argued the oft-cited "10% chance" of catastrophe "is not grounded in science" and "just because it comes from a scientist doesn't make it scientific." He called such alarmist predictions "hurtful," saying "don't think for a second that being an alarmist means you're doing a social good," and urged people to "be evidence-based, do the science."
