Google has announced the donation of gVisor, its user-space application kernel that provides strong container isolation by intercepting syscalls, to CNCF. Widely used in multi-tenant environments such as Cloud Run and AI code-execution sandboxes, the project will now be governed neutrally under the foundation, opening up community contribution and stewardship.
