Anthropic prompts users to opt in to sharing voice chats for AI training
testingcatalog · x · 2026-10-04
Anthropic has begun showing users a prompt asking for voluntary consent to use their voice conversations for training. The notice says "audio recordings and voice chat data help improve how Anthropic AI models understand and respond to speech," and notes users can turn it off or delete the data anytime in settings.
Two signals here: Anthropic appears to be collecting speech data ahead of a possible Realtime voice feature, and — like OpenAI — it is shifting toward opt-in rather than default use of user data for training.
