Cursor agent ran a full week on GPT-5.2 to build a browser with 3M+ lines of Rust

Cursor's mntruell shared that an agent powered by GPT-5.2 ran uninterrupted for a week to build a browser from scratch: 3M+ lines of code across thousands of files, with a Rust rendering engine covering HTML parsing, CSS cascade, layout, text shaping, paint, and a custom JS VM.

It "kind of works" — far from WebKit/Chromium parity and still buggy, but simple websites render quickly and largely correctly. The poster gnukeith wants to replicate the experiment with locally hosted models.
