Dev questions Anthropic's claim of 2200 GPU hours to abliterate GLM: '91 days doesn't add up'

Developer lordx64 is questioning an Anthropic engineer claim that abliterating a GLM model took 2200 GPU hours — roughly 91 days and $4,400 — arguing the numbers don't add up: even with testing, four engineers shouldn't need three months. He says he did the same job alone in 10 hours, including uploading weights to Hugging Face. His theories: it's a typo, or Anthropic used Claude itself for the abliteration and Claude 'trolled them for 91 days,' burning tokens and running in circles. Reposter npinto shares the skepticism.
