Lock and key or supernova? Where LLMs sit on the consciousness spectrum

Continuing his consciousness thread, JoshPurtell argues that while nearly everyone agrees a lock and key isn't conscious, a non-zero number of people find it plausible that suns, supernovae, or other massive systems are. Since we don't know how big an analogue brain would be, he judges LLMs to be far closer to lock-and-key than supernovae on that spectrum.
