Open-source proxy lets you plug local models into ChatGPT, with self-configuration
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-10-04
Developer TheZachMueller released an open-source project that pipes local models into the ChatGPT client. The repo has two halves: a proxy server (which can run on a single host) and the per-machine config changes needed on the ChatGPT side. The author even pointed an LLM at the repo to configure itself. He notes the proxy should include an updater keeping the model list in sync with new OpenAI releases, though the code was a zero-shot write by GLM and may be buggy.
