Apple's home camera reportedly records no video, relies fully on AI sensing
ngxson · x · 2026-10-04
Per Mark Gurman, Apple's rumored home camera will not record any video: there's no footage to review — instead, on-device AI analyzes what happens in your home, positioning it as a smart sensor.
Developer ngxson quipped that this is essentially "an SBC with a camera and llama.cpp installed" — local hardware that understands but never stores, sidestepping privacy concerns. No launch details have been shared.
