Robot teaches itself to close dishwashers purely from deployment data
notmisha · x · 2026-10-04
A robotics startup reports that its robot learned to close a dishwasher on its own — a task it had never seen before and previously required human intervention to finish. The key: deployment data. By accumulating real-world experience during operation, the robot progressively taught itself the task with no prior demonstrations.
The team argues deployment data is the way forward: the more the robot does in real environments, the faster it learns and executes. They are now deploying at scale across kitchens and are open to collaborations.
