Why LLMs suddenly excel at math and cybersecurity still has no predictive theory
burny_tech · x · 2026-10-04
burnytech argues we still can't predict why LLMs suddenly got much better at math and cybersecurity. The common "good RL environments + RL magic" explanation is trivially true but says nothing about limits or future scenarios. He wants a concrete, Popperian model linking data, RL environments, and architecture to the amount and difficulty of problems solved — one that discriminates possible futures instead of retro-fitting anything.
