Nvidia Shield TV Pro, a 7-year-old streamer, gets $100 price hike due to AI memory demand

Nvidia has raised the price of the Shield TV Pro from $199.99 to $299.99, a $100 jump for a streaming box first launched in 2019 with an aging Tegra X1+ chip. A spokesperson confirmed AI is to blame: "The cost of components, including memory, has increased substantially across the industry." Nvidia still actively manufactures the Shield and sells every unit, so with no pre-AI hardware stockpile left, new units face the same supply chain cost pressures as everything else. The non-Pro variant was discontinued earlier.
