The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-04
At Capcom Open Conference RE: 2026, programmer Satoshi Ishida outlined the challenges of building Resident Evil-scale games, where even simple tasks are extremely time-consuming, and proposed "successfully integrating AI technology into development workflows" via the REX Project's evolution of the RE Engine.
Notably, Capcom previously said it wouldn't use AI in games — its upcoming Pragmata even centers on AI horror — yet the studio is now openly preparing to co-create games with AI.
