GLM-powered chess bot escapes losing position and checkmates human opponent
MikePFrank · x · 2026-10-04
Mike Frank shared a game where his AI chess bot "Ox Alpha," powered by GLM-5.3 Flash, appeared about to lose — then escaped and checkmated the human.
Arcturus Chess (public beta) combines language-model deliberation with a tactical engine written from scratch: no external chess engines, opening books, or endgame tablebases. The bot chooses which positions to investigate, weighs evidence, decides moves, and can discuss ideas mid-game.
