A homelab enthusiast describes his first tangible agent automation moment: after reinstalling Fedora on an old MacBook Pro 14,1 plagued by sound and sleep issues, he asked the ChatGPT desktop app to handle the setup itself. The agent autonomously fixed the sound, camera, Thunderbolt, keyboard backlight, battery management and sleep mode — the user only clicked authorize and entered his password. What would have taken hours of manual command-typing happened hands-off.
