Developer Michelle Bakels complains that ChatGPT's voice mode now constantly emits human-like 'mmhmm' affirmations, which interrupt her train of thought. She doesn't need the AI to sound human or act like a friend — she just wants an adjustable, distraction-free hands-free tool for working through ideas.
