Supabase overhauls local dev for AI agents: no Docker, multi-instance per repo, declarative schemas
ycombinator · x · 2026-10-03
Supabase shipped a major local-dev update aimed at AI coding agents:
- Run locally without Docker
- Multiple Supabase instances per repo/worktree, enabling parallel agent workflows
- Declarative Schemas 2.0 with pg-delta auto-generating migrations
- Auth, API and storage config now live in code
The changes make it far easier for agents to safely spin up and manipulate real backend environments.
