A solo developer showcased the alpha of Chimera Arena, a card game where players design creatures and battle videos are generated turn by turn, turning each match into a mini movie. The full pipeline is disclosed:
- Krea 2 + custom LoRAs for card art: 47s for a 1536×1728 image with 2x hires pass, BiRefNet background removal in 1.5s, Marigold depth maps for parallax
- Qwen vision models handle edits, evolutions and fusions: 30s per evolution on an RTX 4090; a 2496×2496 nine-pose sheet took 1m25s
- Text generation moved to Gemini Flash via OpenRouter: 4s and near-zero cost per creature profile
- MiniMax animates battles: an LLM converts moves into scene instructions, with RefMod + FL2V for references and continuation clips to preserve appearance and injuries
- Experiments: Gaussian splatting for AR 3D models; per-creature tiny neural nets trained offline on CPU from player behavior for personalized fighting styles
- Hybrid local RTX 4090 + cloud GPUs with async delivery to the browser to keep GPU costs manageable
