LiquidAI released LFM2.5-Encoder-350M and 230M, multilingual bidirectional encoders built on the LFM2 architecture. Designed for fine-tuning into classification, retrieval, reranking and similarity models across 15 languages with 8k context, they match or beat ModernBERT throughput, run on WebGPU in the browser, and are available in GGUF with llama.cpp support merged.
