UC Berkeley BAIR's Center for Humanoid Intelligence (HIC) team took 1st place in both tracks — industrial board assembly and brick assembly — of the RoCo Robotic Collaborative Assembly Challenge at IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh. The competition drew 55 registered teams from 8+ countries, with $20,000 in prizes and tasks spanning bimanual and tactile-aware connector insertion, wire routing, screw tightening and brick construction. The team credits their recent simulation-based training work at HIC, to be released later, as a key winning factor.
