CoRL 2026 to host Sim-to-Real-to-Field workshop on transfer science, CFP open

The Sim-to-Real-to-Field (SRF) workshop is coming to CoRL 2026 in Austin on November 12, with a paper deadline of October 15 and a $1,000 Best Paper Award sponsored by TENSR, via OpenReview.
The workshop argues robot learning usually stops at single-robot lab demos, while field deployment demands robustness measured distributionally across many robots, sites, and conditions — where rare failure modes decide success. It calls for work on three questions: designing simulation environments (fidelity, diversity, abstraction) so skills survive field transfer; characterizing operating distributions, estimating achieved transfer from onboard signals, and staying safe under transfer failure; and adaptation algorithms for online policy adjustment under distribution shift, including whether foundation models can handle shifts unanticipated before deployment.
