Cartesian by Formas launches AI 3D modeling tool turning photos and sketches into editable CAD solids

Formas opened the waitlist for Cartesian, an AI 3D modeling tool aimed at architecture and product design.
Key points:
- Accepts photos, sketches, plans, or scans and builds models via natural-language dialogue
- Highlighted editability: keep specified objects exactly (e.g. "keep the booths") while regenerating the rest
- Produces clean topology with precise faces, edges and solids instead of polygon-mesh approximations, exportable to SketchUp, Rhino and other CAD tools
- Named elements and explicit relationships feed into BIM workflows
The site showcases downloadable 3DM/STL examples across interiors, furniture, products, and architecture.
