Jevbox: open-source self-organizing document drive with hierarchical search, no vector DB
rickasaurus · x · 2026-10-03
Jevbox is an open-source "document drive that organizes itself," powered by Jev and built on Extend Parse. Upload anything and Jev files it into a folder tree automatically.
- Search is hierarchical — folder, then document, then section — with no embeddings or vector DB
- Every answer cites the exact page and section it came from
- Permissions are enforced at retrieval: lose access to a source, lose access to answers built on it
- Ships with an MCP server so agents get the same permission-aware context
Self-hosting instructions are on GitHub, with one-click deploy to Render.
