Google introduces tiered Gemini access: model choice and limits now vary by plan
QH96 · reddit · 2026-10-03
Google has confirmed (via an official support page) that it is introducing tiered model access for Gemini: users on different plans and tiers will get different Gemini model versions and usage limits, creating a clearer split between free and paid — and between paid tiers — in which models they can actually reach. The Reddit post simply links to the support document; exact tier breakdowns and quota numbers are defined in Google's documentation. The change directly affects which generation of Gemini models and how much usage each subscriber can access.
