Meta says mathematicians made new discoveries using Muse Spark in a plain chat interface
Dr_Singularity · x · 2026-10-03
Meta reports that over recent months it partnered with mathematicians to explore problems across several areas of mathematics. They used Muse Spark 1.1 and 1.2 in Thinking Mode through the regular chat interface, with no custom research scaffold, and produced new results.
The poster notes this follows a wave of AI-accelerated discovery: one person used Claude to explore 400 scientific problems across 18 fields in three months, producing 36 manuscripts spanning physics, ecology, genetics and mathematics.
