instancez open-sources MCP-controlled backend runtime for AI-built apps, Supabase-compatible
instancezAI · reddit · 2026-10-03
The instancez team released an MCP-controlled backend runtime that lets AI coding agents provision and operate Postgres-backed APIs, auth, row-level security, storage, and functions after generating a UI. Key design points: configurations are inspectable, portable YAML/JavaScript; the runtime is Apache-2.0 open source, self-hostable as a single Go binary or runnable on Docker/AWS Lambda/bare metal; and it's wire-compatible with supabase-js, with documented migration paths from Supabase tables, RLS, auth, and storage. The team is soliciting feedback on what agents' backend setups need before production trust.
