Developer brandongalang has long held that GPT models beat Claude at instruction following while Claude is better at inferring intent. With Opus 5.5 he says that gap has closed: his planning and nearly all code execution now run on Opus 5.5, reserving Astra/6.1 Sol for strict grounding tasks.
