Xaira's X-Design model designs functional antibodies against an "undruggable" target

AI drug discovery company Xaira Therapeutics unveiled X-Design, its molecular AI design model, and published a blog post showing de novo antibody design results.
- The goal is to tackle the hardest, most clinically relevant targets traditional methods can't solve, combining top-tier research, engineering and wet-lab capabilities in a model focused on clinically progressible molecules.
- First showcase: de novo design of functional, progressible antibodies for its "undruggable" XA-4 program.
- Xaira argues AI antibody design needs to prove at least one of two things: yielding a fully progressable binder (human, potent, selective, developable) faster/cheaper than traditional methods on real targets, or succeeding where traditional and prior computational approaches have failed — with recalcitrant GPCRs as a key example.
