ML Author Burkov Rants: Codex Keeps Hiding 'Commit and Push' From Vibe Coders
burkov · x · 2026-10-03
ML author Andriy Burkov complains that Codex's UI designers move the "Commit and Push" option to a less intuitive spot with every update, when it should be a huge green button in the top-right corner.
He suggests it should even have a subbutton that fires the prompt: "Pull the changes from Git preserving local changes, then integrate the two and push."
His point: OpenAI doesn't understand vibe coders, who don't care about branches or conflict resolution—if a merge screws up, a fix is just one prompt away, and they run thousands of prompts daily.
