Decade-long dev cuts a full video with AI agents, no editor, in one week

A software engineer of ten years shares how AI unlocked a domain he'd never have entered: he used Astra to build a triage app for filtering, rating and annotating clips, plus a pipeline that auto-labeled footage and transcribed audio for keyword search. Then Opus 5.5 pitched design languages, storyboarded sequences, color-graded clips and did all the cutting—he never opened a video editor, just gave it a song and feedback. In about a week, a pile of raw shaky footage became a coherent story. He notes this is the first time AI did something he could never have done himself.
