The NSF renewed its five-year, $20M award for the EngageAI Institute (led by NC State with UNC-Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt, Indiana University and Digital Promise), funding AI research for K-12 STEM learning through 2031.
- Mohit Bansal (UNC) leads core AI efforts on 3D world models for multimodal narrative environments and AI that adapts to student needs
- Partners include experts in education and learning sciences
