Reclaim 4.1 GiB of hidden RAM on NVIDIA DGX Spark: 64K kernel plus display carveout
marian_nmt · x · 2026-10-02
A blog post for DGX Spark owners: Linux hides 4.1 GiB of the device's 128 GB unified memory. Two combined tricks recover it all — NVIDIA's official 64 KiB kernel (cuts vmemmap metadata 16x, +2.098 GiB) and reclaiming the 2046 MiB headless display reservation. Combined, this grew the author's GLM-5.3-Flash KV pool from 262k to 938k tokens (3.58x). Full steps, scripts, and the spark-ram-reclaim GitHub repo are provided.
