Cloudflare's Birthday Week rollout brings 8 major observability updates that consolidate logs, traces, analytics, alerts, dashboards, querying and telemetry export into one platform, with simpler and more predictable pricing.
Key updates:
- A unified Logs home combining Workers Observability and Log Explorer
- End-to-end tracing from Cloudflare's edge to your origin
- A single SQL API for querying Cloudflare data
- One pricing model for observability data ingestion and storage
- Custom alerts on observability data
- Domain analytics in one place with 30-day retention
- Custom dashboards
- Logpush export now available on self-serve plans
The motivation: debugging issues like 5xx spikes often requires data across multiple Cloudflare products, each with its own query model. Cloudflare frames observability as a platform-wide capability and says more products, datasets and workflows will join this shared platform in coming months.
