Manifesto: open-source project makes UI and agents share the same app-owned actions
TraditionalListen994 · reddit · 2026-10-02
The author released Manifesto, an MIT-licensed open-source project addressing how UIs and agents can follow the same rules when changing application state.
- Approach: define domain transitions in a custom MEL language; UI, backend routes and agents all submit typed actions through one SDK runtime and observe snapshots
- Core computes transitions; Host executes declared effects. Lineage and Governance are optional extensions for history, policy and approvals
- A deliberately small example: a React Todo UI and a scripted agent share one runtime, and completing a task from either path updates the same state and computed values
- Code: github.com/manifesto-ai/core; docs and runnable examples: manifesto-ai.dev
- The author is soliciting feedback on how others keep agent actions and UI actions under the same rules in existing business apps
