MiniMax M3.1Flash Tested on Frontend Creation, Goes Toe-to-Toe with Opus 5.5
APPSO · wechat · 2026-10-02
APPSO tested MiniMax's new M3.1FlashPreview (previously known as the anonymous model SpaceBunny) against Claude Opus 5.5 using public prompts from Opus showcase cases.
- Motion portfolio: Replicating a 15-second motion-design MP4 prompt from X, Opus showed more varied effects, but M3.1Flash organized its black-background neon-green segments into a more coherent film with better stylistic consistency.
- Multiple genres: Hand-drawn "meaning of life" short, ink-wash Little Tadpole animation, an interactive NYC skyline timeline, kart racing, underwater exploration and narrative games — all completed without the Flash tier being a visible handicap.
The piece argues Flash models are shifting the speed/quality/price trade-off so daily coding no longer needs flagship models, likening Flash models to PC clones vs mainframes: as intelligence becomes a standard component, value flows to agents, workflows and app entry points.
