Early users pan OpenAI's Dots agent: single thread, very slow, zero visibility vs Grok Bot

User davis7 compared OpenAI's new personal agent Dots with xAI's Grok Bot and found Grok Bot to be the only real option in the "personal agent" space right now. His Dots complaints: everything crammed into a single thread, very slow responses, and zero visibility into what the agent is doing—users only see a short text from Astra 5-10 minutes after asking, whereas Grok Bot narrates its actions and is fast. The app experience also has issues. Reposter RachelVT42 suggests OpenAI rushed the release for DevDay instead of cooking it properly, drawing comparisons to the rocky Custom GPTs launch.
