Ambion 0.5.0 Released: Agents Now Build Their Own Sensors and Drive Actuators
andreisavu · x · 2026-10-02
Ambion 0.5.0 is out. The open-source project bills itself as a "collaboration kernel for agents and humans," and this release lets agents build their own sensors and drive actuators — the Camera Chat demo shows an agent constructing a camera sensor and looking through it.
Key ideas:
- Rooms: a shared journal with participation rules. Humans ask questions and read results; agents on any framework speak when they have something to add and stay silent otherwise.
- The kernel keeps the record and the rules, so nothing is lost on restart.
- Claude, Codex, and Pi agent seats stay hermetic behind a single workspace.
The project is open source on GitHub (ambionframework/ambion), designed for questions that span multiple domains — e.g., "can we promise a Thursday delivery?" requiring inventory, scheduling, and compliance agents working together.
