Cameras didn't kill art, and AI won't either: the realism lesson
amplifiedamp · x · 2026-10-02
Tetraspace West revives a classic analogy: photography killed realism in painting because a camera captures reality faster, better, and cheaper — yet art didn't die. Artists simply painted what cameras couldn't. The same logic, the author argues, applies to AI: machines take over efficient reproduction, while human creation shifts to what AI can't replicate.
