GitHub suspends AI-generated open-source project and its owner with zero notice or reason
QuixiAI · x · 2026-10-02
Developer HotAisle reports that GitHub suspended his RideControl organization and account with no warning and no stated reason — the project simply vanished. He built the bike-trainer software to aid his recovery after a major accident; it was entirely AI-generated and released as free open source, with only a very cheap paid auto-backup version under consideration.
He stresses the software does nothing illegal and that any experienced developer could have built it, and feels specifically targeted. A GitHub user for decades, he found the "contact support" link led to a dead end and is trying to appeal.
