IBM's Torch Spyre team: an agentic CI pipeline to keep pace with PyTorch
lmoroney · x · 2026-10-02
IBM's Torch Spyre team details reaching L2 on PyTorch's Cross-Repository CI Relay. Their answer: an agentic pipeline that selects which tests matter for their accelerator, a YAML config adapting tests without patching PyTorch's tree, and build-once workflows so parallel jobs test identical wheels. Upgrading from 2.13 to 2.14 required reviewing only 4,000 changed tests. A great case study — the hard part of shipping on new silicon is the testing contract with upstream, and it's learnable.
